New Delhi: It's the eighth day of the hearing in the Prathiba murder case at a fast-track court in Bangalore. Pratibha Srikanthmurthy, a a BPO employee, was murdered in December 2005.
On Tuesday, it was the turn of the defence lawyer to grill Girish Babu, a supervisor in the travel company where the accused Shivakumar was working.
Shivakumar's lawyer had earlier alleged that Girish Babu was involved in the murder, and that his client was innocent.
When questioned by Defence, Girish admitted to having called Shivakumar and speaking with him. Girish had not told the police about this call to Shivakumar and even misled the police as to when he came to know about the crime.
What many thought was a straightforward case, took a new turn with the main accused, Shiva Kumar, saying that it was his supervisor Girish Babu who killed Pratibha. But forensic reports say that it was cab driver Shiva Kumar who raped the BPO employee.
