On Tuesday, March 6, the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) recorded a consumption of 60.07 MU. The first three days of March had recorded consumption well over 59 MU - which was also a first, and Tuesday’s figure has come as no surprise to the KSEB officials. The peak demand during evening hours on Tuesday in Kerala was 3,223 megawatts (MW), and the state recorded a shortage of 173 MW. The day peak stood at 3,265 MW with a shortage of 130 MW. Hydro-electric power stations in the state chipped in with 22.75 MU on Tuesday, of which the 780 MW Idukki Project accounted for 10.20 MU.
