Pondicherry: Stating that Pondicherry needed an alternative government which "would strive hard for its development", BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu said his party would provide it.
Addressing reporters in Pondicherry, he claimed that the party had the goodwill of the people and said that the "alternative would be available at the hands of BJP".
Pondicherry needed a "national nationalist party" to hold reins of power which would take care of the interests of the people, he said.
He said both DMK and AIADMK were not acceptable to the people as these fronts led by them have ruled and ruined Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.
He said BJP would contest the Assembly polls in Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Kerala and Assam on its own, while it would have alliance with Trinamool Congress in West Bengal.
Naidu also announced formation of various committees by the state unit of the party such as Election Committee, Manifesto Committee, Publicity and Resource Mobilisation Committee.
Former Union Minister S Tirunavukarasar, president of BJP's Pondicherry unit R Kesavalu and the in-charge of party affairs for Pondicherry, Lalitha Kumaramangalam were also present at the press meet.
