NILAMBUR: The police will conduct the detailed questioning of Abdul Nasar, the accused in the Selva murder case, on Friday. The body of eight-year-old Selva, daughter of Sakeer, was found at the bathroom of her neighbour Palackaparambil Abdul Nasar on Wednesday late night. The injuries in the body provide clues that the girl had been raped. Police could not interrogate Nasar successfully as he is admitted to a hospital. He was beaten up by a mob after the girl’s body was found in his bathroom.“We found injuries on her neck. She was strangled to death using a shawl. Cause of death and doubt about rape can only be cleared after getting the postmortem report,” Nilambur CI A P Chandran said. The motive of murder will be known only after questioning Nasar.Selva went missing on her way to Madrasa on Wednesday morning. Her family members and natives started searching for her after 11 am. Nasar also joined the mob to search for the girl. They also informed the police about the missing of the girl.The body of Selva was found at around 9 pm in the bathroom of Nasar. Nasar had left the search team when he found that the mob was heading towards his home. The crowd caught Nasar from a nearby place and beat him brutally. Some of the police personnel were also injured in the attack. However, the Police later took Nasar in to custody and admitted him in the Kozhikode Medical College.
