HYDERABAD: Cyberabad police suspect that Niranjan took the help of some others probably his friends, to kill his wife Ananthalakshmi. Meanwhile, in another twist to the murder case, Niranjan reportedly made a vain bid to escape from the custody of Vanasthalipuram police on Tuesday evening.Niranjan was taken into custody for questioning into the case of his `missing’ wife, a 20-year-old degree student, Ananthalakshmi, on Monday and it was found that Niranjan took her to Srisailam and murdered her three days before their first marriage anniversary.Niranjan, who took nearly Rs 70 lakh as dowry to marry the woman, was demanding a divorce from her within less than one year of marriage. As Ananthalakshmi was against it, he decided to eliminate her and brought her to the city from Guntur on the pretext of admitting her in a spoken English course. On May 20, Niranjan took her to Srisailam, killed her and later abandoned her body in the forest .Police believe that two more persons are behind the murder. Meanwhile, Ananthalakshmi’s body, which was buried by the Achampet police earlier, was exhumed and handed over to her parents and the final rites performed at their native place, Acchayyapalem on Tuesday. The Achampet police transferred the case to Vanasthalipuram police. Meanwhile, sources said Niranjan made a vain attempt to flee from the custody of Vanasthalipuram police. On the pretext of attending nature’s call, Niranjan tried to scale the compound wall of the police station but was caught by the escort police, sources said.
