Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday virtually launched the ‘Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari’ initiative in Gujarat. The prime minister expressed concerns over the flood situation in Gujarat and Andhra saying, “I have never seen so much rains in Gujrat in past. Some other parts of the country are also reeling under floods situation.”
The ‘Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari’ initiative is aimed at fulfilling the prime minister’s resolve to make water conservation a national priority.
“Today, an important campaign is being launched from the land of Gujarat, by Jal Shakti Ministry. Before this, in the recent past, there was a rain havoc in every corner of the country. There would hardly be any area in the country which did not have to face the crisis due to this calamity…this time Gujarat faced a huge crisis…All the systems did not have the strength to help us withstand this wrath of nature. But the people of Gujarat and the countrymen have a nature that in times of crisis, everyone stands shoulder to shoulder and helps everyone,” he said during the launch.
