The Prime Minister leads by example, does his bit for the victims of J&K
New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has contributed a month's pay to the National Relief Fund.
The money in the fund is being used for the rehabilitation of those affected by the earthquake in Jammu and Kashmir.
The PM?s Media Adviser Sanjaya Baru said, ?Dr Singh has not just handed over his salary cheque but has also made a public appeal for donations for survivors of the October 8 earthquake.?
Baru said that concerned citizens, industrial associations and many other organisations have responded to the Prime Minister?s call.?
Dr Singh has already announced an ex-gratia relief of Rs 100,000 to the next of kin of those who died in the quake.
