PIL seeks direction to CBI to secure Vanzara's confession
CBI said that Vanzara's resignation letter is of no value in terms of evidence.

New Delhi: A PIL has been filed in the Supreme Court asking it to direct the CBI to secure DG Vanzara's confession in light of his resignation letter and allegations against Amit Shah.

This comes after the CBI said that Vanzara's resignation letter is of no value in terms of evidence. CBI Director Ranjit Sinha has said they are yet to get an official copy of his letter.

Sinha says the letter will only be examined in the context of the ishrat case once they receive it. Sources say that the CBI can look into the allegations if Vanzara repeates them during cross examination and the court orders the CBI to take action.
