Mumbai: A Public Interest Litigation was on Monday filed in the Bombay High Court demanding that probe into the July 13 serial Mumbai blasts should be transferred to CBI.
At present, Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) and Mumbai Crime Branch are jointly conducting the probe into bomb blasts which left 19 persons dead besides injuring over 130. The explosions occurred at Zaveri Bazaar, Dadar West and Opera House.
The PIL was filed by advocate V P Patil who contended that the bomb blasts was terror attack on the nation and hence the central agency like CBI must take up the probe.
It will come up for hearing in due course, Patil said.
Patil further prayed for action against Maharashtra Government for failure of intelligence machinery about terror attacks. He also pleaded that a committee may be formed to improve police machinery in the state.
