HYDERABAD: Justice Rohini of AP High Court on Monday dismissed a writ petition against minor irrigation minister TG Venkatesh. In the writ petition, Guruvaiah of Kurnool district, complained that the Kurnool municipality constructed a commercial complex in an open space in the town yielding to the pressure from the minister and his son. The open place was actually meant for lung space. The petitioner said he owned about three ‘mulgies’ in the complex and the rest belong to the minister, his son and other family members. Dismissing the writ petition, Rohini pointed out that the locus of the petitioner was suspect as the ‘mulgies’ were not in his name as claimed by him.In a separate writ petition, Guruvaiah impleaded the chief secretary while seeking police protection from the minister and his ‘henchmen’.Justice Ashutosh Mohanta questioned why the chief secretary was unnecessarily impleaded in the writ petition. While directing to issue notices to the respondents, the judge ordered deletion of the chief secretary’s name as a party in the case.Respond to plea of Bhanu’s mother: HCJustice Ashutosh Mohanta of the AP High Court on Monday sought response from the state government in a writ petition filed by R Meena Kumar, mother of Bhanu Kiran who is the prime accused in Suri murder case.
