HYDERABAD: Two weeks after the Anti-Corruption- Bureau had given a clean chit to former chief minister K Rosaiah in the case relating to the de-notification of a 9-acre land in Ameerpet here, a protest petition was filed in the ACB court on Thursday. The petitioner alleged that the ACB had not conducted proper investigation despite submission of evidence. The ACB court had earlier directed the anti-corruption watchdog to investigate the allegations over de-notification of a 9.14-acre land by Rosaiah when he was the chief minister and submit a report. The ACB submitted a report on August 12 stating that GO 288 issued to reconvey the land was legal. The ACB also told the court that it had found no evidence of involvement of Rosaiah or others receiving any bribe or of any criminal breach of trust.Taking exception to the report submitted by the ACB, the petitioner, K Mohan Lal, filed the protest petition. His counsel, T Sriranga Rao, said the ACB had not conducted proper investigation despite sufficient evidence submitted by them.“The ACB did not consider the documents submitted by us,’’ Sriranga Rao said and alleged that the ACB did not conduct proper investigation because Rosaiah was a former chief minister and he used his clout. He requested the court that the witnesses be examined and the evidence they had produced be verified by the judge.“The ACB did not examine any of the material witnesses submitted by us.The agency is a government-controlled one and it did not interrogate the former chief minister,’’ Sriranga Rao said.Further hearing will be held on September 9.
