Panel meet on sealed buildings on January 3

CHENNAI: The Monitoring Committee, appointed by the High Court to decide on the fate of T Nagar business establishments whose premises were sealed by the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA), will hold its meeting on January 3 .The meeting is being held in the wake of the Madras High Court asking the T Nagar business establishments to approach the Monitoring Committee and submit details about building plan for removal of lock and seal.Monitoring Committee member M G Deivasahayam said that the Tuesday meeting will look into issue of desealing the premises of shop owners.“We will look into the issue on a case by case basis,” he said, adding that, “We will also be looking into the kind of proof being produced by the shopping establishments before deciding on it.” The High Court bench has asked shop owners whose premises had been sealed to submit requisite details before the committee with a request to ‘de-seal’ their premises.
