CHENNAI: Palliative care services were launched at the Frontier Lifeline Hospital by Dr Mayilvahanan Natarajan, Vice-Chancellor - Dr MGR Medical University on Saturday. Frontier Lifeline Hospital and Sri City have entered into an memorandum of understanding (MoU) for providing Emergency Services for Sri City and this relationship will be growing into managing a full-fledged hospital for Sri City in the near future. Ravindra Shannareddy, Managing Director, Sri City SEZ launched an ambulance for the same purpose.As a part of World Heart Day celebrations, students from various educational institutions took part in an organ donation awareness programme.Speaking on the occasion, Dr K M Cherian, CEO & Chairman, Frontier Lifeline Hospital said, “We are proud to launch palliative services at our hospital as a part of World Heart Day celebrations. Palliative service offers a support system to let patients live as actively as possible till death. With the number of patients waiting for an organ transplant is increasing every day; we would like to spread the awareness on organ donation.” Dr Mayilvahanan Natarajan said, “I congratulate the students of various institutions for taking part in the organ donation awareness programme. It is necessary to educate people on the benefits of organ donation as millions of people die every year due to lack of organs for transplantation.”
