New Delhi: The Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation has succeeded in getting the Lahore high court to pass orders to ensure security to those who want to observe the 86th martyrdom day of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, the Times of India reported.

The event is observed every year at Shadman Chowk in Lahore, Pakistan. This was the place where the three were hanged on March 23, 1931.

Every year people assemble at Shadman Chowk on March 23 to observe the day as remembrance and raise the demand for naming it after Bhagat Singh. In 2015, some religious groups had threatened them and told them not to observe his martyrdom day.

Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh of the Lahore high court directed the police to provide security to those who come to pay tributes to the martyrs.
