Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj on Thursday said that Pakistan's joint investigation team will arrive in India on March 27 and will be starting its probe into the Pathankot terror attacks case on March 28. "It is not possible that Pathankot be not discussed in my meeting with Sartaj Aziz. The date for joint investigation team visit has been decided. It will arrive on March 27 night and will begin their work on March 28," Swaraj said.
Swaraj met the Pakistan PM's advisor Sartaj Aziz and held bilateral talks in Pokhra in Nepal on Thursday. This was the first meeting between the two leaders since the Pathankot attacks that took place in January.
Several issues were discussed between the two leaders including the Pathankot terror attack during their 20-minute meeting.
During a joint press conference with Swaraj, Aziz expressed satisfaction over the way the Pathankot incident was handled on both sides.
He added that he hopeful of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif's meeting in Washington in March. Aziz handed over an invitation for Modi to attend the SAARC summit which is to be held in Islamabad later in 2016. Swaraj said she has accepted the invitation on behalf of the Prime Minister and thanked Sharif and Aziz for it.
