CHENNAI: A diploma course in BPO management called Diploma in BPO Management (DIBM) a the first of its kind in the country, was launched by Orion Eductech, BPO training institute in association with HCL Technologies. It also has a 50 per cent scholarship meant for meritorious and poor students.“Keeping in mind the growing demand for outsourcing across industries, there is a need to nurture skilled professionals who are keen to pursue stable careers in the ITeS industry,” said MRN Rao, Center-Director of Orion Edutech when announcing the scholarship, “A structured programme in BPO management is required to address this need.”As per the agreement, during the three-month on-the-job-training in HCL, students will receive a stipend of `7,500 every month. On completion of the in-house three-month training-cum-probation, selected candidates will be awarded the diploma and will be made full time employees of the company. On completion of one year of employment in HCL, they would receive Rs 15,000 as cash back from HCL as an incentive.“The admissions started in March and we have promised 2,000 candidates for this year,” said Rao. “Candidates who have completed Class 12 are eligible to apply for the course.”To avail the scholarship, a candidate has to take a written test followed by a voice process. The entire process would be conducted at training centres of Orion Edutech. Candidates who fulfill the marks criterion will be eligible for the scholarship. Students will also be offered counseling before they apply for the course in order to help them choose the right course.
