BANGALORE: Even as Sriramulu claimed that his decision to resign as MLA was aimed at clearing his name from the illegal mining charges, Opposition Congress sees it as a pressure tactic by the Bellary trio to get their share in the Cabinet. Reacting to Sriramulu’s resignation, Opposition leader Siddaramaiah said that it is nothing but a pressure tactic by the Bellary trio.On the other hand JD(S) was cautious in its reactions as it is hoping to rope in Sriramulu if he decides to sever ties with BJP. JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy said that it was BJP’s internal matter and Sriramulu is wise enough to take his own decision. To a question if Sriramulu would join the JD(S), he said that it was a hypothetical question and it would be pre-mature to comment on it. However, he did not forget to praise Sriramulu for his willingness to help the poor. “Sriramulu worked with me and I know he is good at heart. He is always ready to help the needy,” he added.
