Online verification facility launched

Taking its online services to the next level, the Kerala University (KU) on Thursday launched the facility making online verification of marklists and certificates of students possible. The system will not just ease the work of the University, but will also bring down the time otherwise consumed for the process when students apply for the same. It will also help the students who opt for higher studies or job placements in other places.

The system has been put in place by the University by joining hands with the Chennai-based myeasydocs.com.

The candidate has to register for uploading the details by remitting a fee of ` 1,000 to the University. The marklist and certificates uploaded on the site www.ku.directverify.in would be saved in the server and on the demand of the student or the placement company could be used for verification.

‘’Earlier, if a company needed a verification document from the University, it had to be cleared right from the section officer to the Vice-Chancellor’s office. Sometimes, the student had to wait for months and the next time he/she went for an interview, the process had to be repeated. The University had to spend its energy every time to do it also. By making it online, it would be available in the server and every time the company asks for the document, the University gets ` 1,000 without double work. The student also gets his/her work done at the click of a mouse,’’ said B S Jyothikumar, Syndicate member and convenor, Standing Committee for Finance.

He added that presently, the online facility was optional. ‘’But we are thinking of making it mandatory for at least the BTech students from next year,’’ he said.

The new system was inaugurated by Director of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau Venugopal K Nair at a function held at the Senate Chamber on Thursday.
