Karnataka Home Minister R Ashok and BJP MP Ananth Kumar handed over the key to Shivageyappa at the inauguration of Police Constables’ Model Flat. The flats were built in a matter of just 15 days using unique system of panels composed of an expanded polystyrene core encased with an innovative steel lining. The flats were built in with an innovative project by the KSPHC in collaboration with Pearls MiiHome an Australian firm. After inaugurating these flats, Home Minister R Ashok said “There are about one lakh police constables in the state, of which just 38,000 are allotted housed through KSPHC. I do not know as how many years it will take to build and allot houses to the remaining police officials with the traditional construction system which progresses at a snails pace.” Only one thousand houses will be built in a year for the police constables  through KSPHC.Mentioning this technology as a boon to the state R Ashok said, “We have created history with this pilot project. With an intention to provide houses to all the police constables we have plans to take this concept to all the taluks.” He also stated that this initiative is free from pollution unlike others. BJP MP Ananth Kumar said, “There are more than 40 million homeless families in the country and mentioned that through this technology the dream of providing homes to all can be fulfilled in a couple of years.”All the construction panels and materials were imported from Australia. The building site was prepared and a concrete slab was poured putting the screw piers in place and the floor pan was laid out directly onto the slab along with the installation of internal floor channels. Prefabricated modules such as kitchens and bathrooms with all the appliances and fittings were dropped in. Plumbing and electrical services were roughed in using service cores and conduit channels within the panels and roof panels were secured to the walls using special steel sections, fixings and fasteners. Finally walls were finished by setting each joint and corner and they were applied with a base coat ready for painting. The Build Process in just 15 days and the key component of the building arrived on site according to size and construction sequence  on November 29.
