No weekend revelry in Mangalore homestays

After the recent attack on Morning Mist, the Mangalore City Police Commissionerate has planned to curb all the weekend and rave parties at beaches, resorts and homestays here.

The Commissionerate has ordered all the police stations to send notices to resorts, homesstays and beach committees against conduct  ing weekend and rave parties. The owners of the party venues will be responsible for any untoward incidents, if organised without police permission.

A notice issued to Panambur Beach Development Committee (PBDC) explained that the committee should not hold weekend and rave parties which are illegal, but get permission from the authorities.

PBDC chief executive officer Yatish Baikampady said that the restriction on parties at the beach is ‘a discouraging factor to tourism development’. He said that the government was supporting tourism on one hand and trying to curb development on the other hand.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Mutturaya said that all police stations were directed to keep vigilance on parties to prevent such incidents.
