No plan to quit CPM, says M M Monayi

With CPM leader M M Monayi opting not to renew his party membership, rumours are rife that the CPM leader is planning to quit the party.

However Monayi refuted the rumours and stated that he will continue to remain as an active CPM worker. The CPM leader and former Kunnathunad MLA’s decision not to renew   his party membership has raised may eyebrows. It has been pointed out that the former MLA is deliberately distancing himself from the party owing to the differences of opinion with some leaders.

However, Monayi said that his decision for the non-renewal of membership is owing to personal reasons.

Speaking to Express, Monayi made it clear that the decision was taken with the party’s  permission. “I have never given a statement that I am leaving the party.

I am still an active CPM worker and will continue to be the same. Owing to personal reasons, I have decided not to renew the membership. The decision was taken after obtaining permission from the party leadership,” Monayi pointed out.

Monayi was a member of the High Court Branch of the party.

Though he decided not to renew his membership, Monayi will continue to hold other positions.
