Adilabad: In a bid to ensure that commuters obey traffic rules, the Adilabad District administration in Telangana has taken a decision not to provide petrol to two-wheeler drivers without helmets.
The rule came into effect from June 2. Special awareness drives are also being conducted to encourage people to wear helmets.
"The District Collector has implemented a new rule 'no helmet, no petrol'. We now give the fuel only to those who are wearing a helmet. We support this initiative. It is necessary especially for the safety of bike riders," a petrol pump owner said.
