CHENNAI: Former DMK minister N K K P Raja, Erode district Mayor K Kumar Murugesh and three others who were arrested on charges of land grabbing, intimidation and causing damage to the property of a land owner in Perundurai in March 2007 were granted bail by the Madras High Court on Monday.Considering the circumstances and the fact that the petitioners were arrested on August 4 and their further incarceratation was not necessary, they were released on bail, Justice T Sudanthiram said on Monday.They should be released on bail on their executing a personal bond for `20,000 each with two sureties each for a like sum to the satisfaction of the Judicial Magistrate-III in Erode. They should stay in Tiruchy and appear before the Judicial Magistrate-I daily at 10.30 am untill further orders, the judge added.
