Nieminen and Youzhny advanced to the second round of the Stockholm Open with straight-set wins.
Stockholm: Jarkko Nieminen of Finland and Russia's Mikhail Youzhny advanced to the second round of the Stockholm Open on Monday with straight-set wins.
Nieminen, who lost last year's final to Gael Monfils of France, was down 4-2 in the second set but recovered to win the match 6-3, 6-4.
Niemenen says "I lost focus and made some simple mistakes but then I woke up and started playing more aggressive. I'm really happy I was able to win in two sets."
Earlier, Youzhny beat Brian Baker of the United States 6-3, 6-1.
