Noida: The National Green Tribunal has issued a notice to the Chief Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh government, the UP pollution control board, the District Magistrate and SSP of Noida to file a report on the rising cases of cancer in the Greater Noida district, allegedly due to consumption of contaminated ground water.
The next date of the hearing is December 12.
CNN-IBN had earlier reported how industrial pollution in the rural areas in Greater Noida had contaminated water sources leading to a rise in cancer cases.
According to a survey by the government 57 people have died in the last five years in Chhap-raula Industrial Area in Greater Noida due to cancer and there are 36 people suffering from the deadly disease.
