The Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) had then ordered BMRCL to approach RDSO for a new speed certificate.“After arriving back in Lucknow, the RDSO team will prepare the clearance report for Bangalore metro rail. The report, then will be sent to the commissioner of railway safety who then carry out the safety inspections,” Mathur added. The wait continuesThe RDSO team will require anywhere between two to three weeks for preparing the report on the oscillation and emergency brake distance. After the report is prepared, it will be sent to all RDSO directorates, including Building and Structures and Track Design. The report, after the approval of all the directorates, is then sent to the commissioner of railway safety, who after going through it, will give out the date for conducting the safety inspections.Trial run pendingIn the meantime, the BMRCL, however, will have to complete the 2,500-km service trial for its coaches with the new speed certificate.Service trials, which are conducted to check the system installation of a train, look for discrepancies in the rail and look to address any fault. The wait for Metro, however, never seems to be getting over, especially now that Bangalore Metro that has gone non-committable after failing to meet three deadlines.
