Mumbai: Sub-inspector booked for allegedly raping woman
In her FIR, the woman alleged that the accused raped her on seven occasions on the pretext of marrying her, but later refused.

Mumbai: A 32-year-old sub-inspector has been booked for allegedly raping and having unnatural sex with a 22-year-old woman, the police said on Friday. An FIR was registered against him on Thursday under Section 377 (outraging the modesty of a women), Section 376 (rape) and Section 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), after the victim complained against Sachin Dabolkar who is on probation at the Chembur police station since June 2012.

Dabolkar has not been arrested yet. He had allegedly refused to marry the girl after having consensual sex with her for a few months, said RCF police station officials. The police are awaiting medical reports and call records of the victim and the police officer to take further action. According to the police, Dabolkar met the victim, who is a sales girl on June 14, 2012, when she went to the Chembur police station to lodge a complaint after she lost her mobile phone. Dabolkar who was the investigating officer managed to recover her lost phone.

In her FIR, the victim alleged that Dabolkar allegedly raped her at least on seven occasions between July 1 and July 31 on the pretext of marrying her, but later refused to do so. The alleged rapes were committed at the residences of the victim as well as the accused, the police said.
