New Delhi: The Delhi Police is conducting more raids at the premises of various private companies allegedly involved in the case. It is conducting raids at the Coal and Power ministries to uncover more evidence.

The police have uncovered a crucial link in the investigation after it arrested an energy consultant who allegedly leaked documents from the Coal and Power ministries. The suspect, Lokesh, sold documents to other energy consultants including former journalist Santanu Saikia and Prayas Jain. Saikia, Jain and two others were arrested by the police last week.

Lokesh has been sent to police custody for five days. The police custody of Saikia, Jain and two others has been extended till March 6.

In a related development, the Delhi crime branch has summoned a CISF inspector in-charge of security at Shastri Bhawan for questioning.

The police have arrested a Defence Ministry employee who had given a fake identity card (ID) card to one of the accused arrested in the case along with paper with an official letter head.

The document was used by another accused to prepare the fake permission of his vehicle to projected it as being hired by the government. Reports suggest that no sensitive documents were leaked from the Ministry of Defence.

Meanwhile, the Delhi police conducted raids at the Vishwadeep towers in Janakpuri in the capital. The five corporate executives arrested in the case will be presented in court on Tuesday.

Virender Kumar, employed as a casual worker in the Ministry of Defence, had given a forged ID card to Lalta Parsad and also a paper with the official letter head. Parsad has already been arrested. The ID card was used by Raj Kumar Chaubey, who was arrested earlier, to prepare the fake permission of his vehicle and projected it as being hired by the Central government.
