Missing GH doctors put on notice

VELLORE: On a surprise visit to the Vellore Pentland Government Hospital on Sunday, State health minister Dr V S Vijay found only one doctor on duty. According to hospital sources, four of the 12 staff doctors were away on leave, thus creating the lack of duty staff. If such tardiness continued, he would transfer such unpunctual doctors, the minister warned. He said, “Plans have been made to increase the number of doctors to 30 for a bed strength of 100 patients.”
