SAMBALPUR: District Police on Tuesday detained four persons, including a woman, for their alleged involvement in the rape of a 17-year-old girl here.The incident came to light after the father of the victim reported the matter to the Town Police. The victim and the accused were sent for medical examination on Tuesday and a man-hunt has been launched to nab the main accused, identified as Sudarshan Loha.The victim, a native of Ulunda in Sonepur district, had an affair with Sudarshan Loha of Patrapali. However, the girl was sent to a relative’s place in Sambalpur when the family came to know about the affair.On May 24, Sudarshan asked the victim to reach Ring Road here and took her to Guhiratikra under Burla police limits. Later they spent the night in the house of one of his friend, Rohit Pradhan. When Rohit’s wife returned the next day, three friends of Sudarshan also landed at the house. While Rohit and his wife slept outside, the others slept inside the house. On May 25, Sudarshan and his friends allegedly took turns and raped the victim before dropping her at Bhatra Road on the outskirts of Sambalpur where she was raped again.
