Mild tremor rocks 4 villages in Prakasam

TALLURU ( PRAKASAM) : A mild tremor occurred at four villages in Talluru mandal in Prakasam district on Tuesday morning, forcing frightened people to rush out of their homes and run for safety.The tremors occurred at 11.30 am in Gangavaram (10,000 population) Vithalapuram (5,000 population), Kotturu (2,000 population) and Ramanalavaripalem (2,000 population).Thasildar Ch Veeramohan Rao, who rushed to Gangavaram, inspected some houses in the village along with housing department engineers and came to the conclusion that there was no collateral damage. He also visited Vithalapuram, Kotturu and Ramanalavaripalem and sent a report to the district collector. The district, spread over 30 mandals, experienced 12 earthquakes in the past 30 years.
