BANGALORE: Metro oscillation trials failed to take place on Wednesday as the Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO) is yet to install the testing devices onto the Metro coaches.
"Instrumentation of coaches for oscillation is a complicated process and there is a lot of complex wiring that has to take place, which does take sometime," Executive Director (Administration) of RDSO A K Mathur said.The RDSO officials currently are busy installing sensor devices on the axle that are capable of registering even slight jerks that are then transmitted onto the recording devices inside the train, Mathur said.

The recording devices will make a database for Bangalore Metro based on the recording of aspects such as position, curvature, alignment and smoothness of the track structure.

He also,however,clarified that rains otherwise will not affect the regular operations of Metro train.

Appointed

Both officials have been appointed by the Union Government to perform functions in respect of electrical works,electrical institutions and electrical rolling stock of Bangalore Metro.
