New Delhi: As the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) continues its drive of sealing commercial establishments in residential areas, a couple of upmarket South Delhi localities will face the MCD hammer starting Saturday.
According to Supreme Court orders, sealings were to start across Delhi from the September 1 onwards but last week the monitoring committee set up by the court gave traders and commercial establishments in A and B category colonies, a breather till September 15, to file affidavits.
All illegal buildings, from small retail shops to nursing homes will be targeted on Saturday.
Primary schools functioning above ground floors will also be sealed.
In the second phase of the MCD's sealing drive, areas that may face the axe are posh localities of Vasant Vihar, Greater Kailash and South Extension.
