New Delhi: Don't be surprised if the campaigning for the much-awaited Municipal Corporation of Delhi elections is not really visually appealing.

An all-party meeting on Wednesday decided that the MCD elections that are to be held in the first week of April would be bereft of hoardings and posters. The parties also decided that the most suitable days for the polls were April 3, 4, 5 and 7.

The decision was taken in keeping with the state Elections Commission view of banning all kinds of hoardings and posters in the run up to the elections.

"We have zeroed in on a few days and the final date would be announced after consultations with the police as they are the ones who will provide security," PTI quoted Delhi State Elections Commissioner, SP Marwah, as saying.

"After discussions with them, the final polling date will be announced in a day or two," he added.
