L'Aquila (Italy): Prime Minister Manmohan Singh briefly met with US President Barack Obama during the outreach meeting of G8 and G5 leaders at their summit on Thursday.
Both leaders shook hands and exchanged pleasantries, Indian officials said. No bilateral talks were held.
They managed talked about Pakistan, but more importantly, they spoke of US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's visit to India and the issues that could crop up then.
Obama and Manmohan Singh had a formal meeting in April on the sidelines of the G20 summit in London.
There was no formal meeting scheduled between Obama and Manmohan Singh here though top foreign ministry officials had maintained that they would be 'in the same room at the same time'.
Manmohan Singh met British Prime Minister Gordon Brown Wednesday and was scheduled to meet German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and Angolan President Jose Eduardo Dos Santos.
