Man held for impersonation

KOCHI: A man, who allegedly fleeced shopkeepers by posing as a member of the Commissioner’s Squad, was arrested by the police of Friday. The accused, identified as Jayapalan, allegedly bought a chain from a shopkeeper in Ernakulam South without paying the price after he feigned himself to be a member of the Commissioner’s squad and allegedly beat up the shopkeeper.The accused was presented before the court and remanded.At the time of arrest,  Jayapalan was posing as the principal of Advaith Mission School in Thiruvananthapuram.
