Mammootty back to films, plans son's marriage
The superstar said he has begun work on his new film 'Veniceile Vyapari' in Alappuzha.

Kochi: Southern superstar Mammootty says the media had a field day when tax men were raiding his premises, but now he is back to shooting for films. He is also excited about his son's marriage in December.

Speaking to the media for the first time since the IT raids, Mammootty told IANS he was back to doing what he knows best - acting.

"Am sure all of you people had a field day," the superstar, who has been doing films for over three decades, told IANS. The raids were carried out on his homes and offices in four cities July 22.

The superstar said he has begun work on his new film 'Veniceile Vyapari' in the picturesque backwaters of Alappuzha in Kerala.

It is directed by Shafi who is rated as a hit director as two of his films warmed up the box office. In the film, Mammootty pairs up with Kavya Madhavan for the second time.

'Veniceile Vyapari' is scripted by James Albert and produced by veteran Murali Films Madhavan Nair.

He said apart from being busy with work, he will now have to spend time planning the marriage of his son, Dulquar Salman.

"Yes, the engagement is over and the marriage is fixed for Dec 22 to be held in Chennai and a reception here on Dec 26. It will be a very solemn occasion and a private affair," said Mammootty.

Asked about his future daughter-in-law, Mammootty said, "They are a north Indian Muslim family settled in Chennai and she has just finished her architecture. The alliance has been fixed by the elders from both families and is not a love marriage," said the superstar.
