Nineteen districts of Madhya Pradesh have received more than normal rainfall this season, while it was normal in 19 others and less than normal in the remaining 13 districts.

Bhopal: Nineteen districts of Madhya Pradesh have received more than normal rainfall this season, while it was normal in 19 others and less than normal in the remaining 13 districts.

The state has a total of 51 districts.

The 19 districts which have received more than normal rainfall are Dhar, Indore, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Ujjain, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Ratlam, Dewas, Shajapur, Agar-Malwa, Guna, Bhopal, Sehore, Rajgarh, Raisen, Khandwa, Harda and Betul, an official said.

The other 19 districts where normal rainfall has been recorded are Jabalpur, Barwani, Mandla, Dindori, Narsinghpur, Satna, Singrauli, Hoshangabad, Ashoknagar, Vidisha, Gwalior, Seoni, Umaria, Shivpuri, Burhanpur, Chhindwara, Damoh, Rewa and Khargone, the official said.

The remaining 13 districts where the rainfall has been below normal are Katni, Balaghat, Panna, Anuppur, Sidhi, Sagar, Tikamgarh, Morena, Datia, Shahdol, Chhatarpur, Sheopur and Bhind, he said.

According to the MET department, heavy rains will lash Agar-Malwa, Shajapur, Guna, Ashoknagar, Dhar Indore, Ujjain, Tikamgarh, Sagar, Damoh, Satna and Rewa districts in the next 48 hours.

The department also sounded alert in Ujjain, Guna, Vidisha, Bhopal, Damoh and Raisen districts in view of the heavy rainfall warning.
