CHIKBALLAPUR: Opposition leader in the Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah who visited lynching sites on Sunday, urged the State Government to direct the police not to arrest any more people and release the innocents in police and judicial custody immediately.After visiting Yerakote and Barla Halli of Chintamani, the two places where the dual incidents claimed the life of ten persons, he told reporters that the incident demonstrated the “failure of law and order in the state”.He told the police to arrest the real culprits and release the innocents immediately.Siddaramaiah said the government’s decision to wait for a report on the incidents before taking action was unsatisfactory and demanded setting up of a commission to find the reason for these two incidents.On the recent shifts in politics, he said the BJP was playing high drama in the state. “The BJP central leaders failed to select a candidate for the chief minister’s post, instead they had to resort for electing, he added.WarnedSiddaramaiah said those who were involved in the mining scam would eventually end up in jail and warned the Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda against giving ministerial berth to Reddy brothers.“Congress will take the matter to streets if the chief minister inducts any of the Reddys in the cabinet, Siddaramaiah warned.
