The father of the 15-year-old girl who has accused self-styled godman Asaram of sexual assault is now sitting on a hunger strike. The father is demanding prompt action against Asaram and says he won't eat until Asaram is arrested.

Earlier, the girl's father had said his daughter is still depressed over the incident and explained why they went to Asaram in the first place despite knowing there were so many accusations against him.

"We thought he is a great man and we should become his followers," the survivor's father said.

Meanwhile, Asaram seems to be playing hide and seek as the Jodhpur police continue to search for him in connection with the sexual assault case. The Indore police have now said that Asaram is not in the city even as the Jodhpur police have dispatched teams to question and arrest the 'godman'.

"Asaram is not here in Indore. The Jodhpur police has not contacted us," said Indore SP Govind Rawat.

The Jodhpur police continue to maintain that Asaram is in Indore. "We have been told that Asaram is in Indore and have sent teams to Indore. Asaram will be arrested if investigations prove him guilty. We are co-ordinating with Madhya Pradesh Police and have full support from them," said Jodhpur DCP Ajaypal Lamba.

The police on Friday refused to grant any extension to him. The police said they have several teams monitoring Asaram's whereabouts to ensure that he does not escape.

"We have received a fax from Asaram's ashram saying that he wants more time as there has been a death in his family. He claims he isn't well. We have decided not to give him any more time. Our teams will leave Jodhpur to investigate the matter soon. If he is found guilty, he will be arrested. He has no defence," Jodhpur DCP Ajaypal Lamba said.

Asaram had applied for a transit anticipatory bail application filed by him in the Gujarat High Court which he later withdrew after the court indicated that it would not grant him bail.####
