Independent MLA Chamra Linda on Monday surrendered in a local court in connection with a decade-old case and was granted bail ahead of a vote of confidence in the Jharkhand Assembly.
Linda, who has lent support to the Hemant Soren-led government that was sworn in on July 13, surrendered before Judicial Magistrate Santosh Anand Prasad in a case related to statewide bandh observed in 2002. He was granted bail after he moved a petition on surrender. The cabinet has convened a special Assembly session on July 18 and vote of confidence is the business of the house.
