A training programme on ‘Improving Livelihood of Western Ghats Through Ornamental Fish Culture’ is being held at the Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (Kufos) head office at Panangad.
The programme is organised with the funding of the Western Ghat Cell, Planning and Economic Affairs Department, Government of Kerala and the Nabard.
Kufos VC Madhusoodana Kurup inaugurated the training programme. He said that the training is being organised to spread awareness about the fishermen community to the local people. A total of 13 groups were formed from the 13 districts, with a membership of five each. The group from Kasargod district and two representatives from Nabard are participating in the ongoing programme.
