BANGALORE: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president G Parameshwar apologised to Public Works Minister C M Udasi for his derogatory remarks against him over poor roads in the state. In a release, Parameshwar said that he made the remarks only after he was pained to see such roads. “The statement was not intended to hurt a senior minister like Udasi. It is true that the roads in my constituency are bad. If everything is done by the Centre, why will we ever need the state government? The intention of my padayatra was only to highlight problems in my constituency,” he added. The Congress leader alleged that the BJP was differentiating when it came to taking up development works in constituencies. “Constituencies that have elected Congress legislators are neglected... this disparity needs to be addressed; equal funds must be released to all constituencies. The minister should release a statement on funds for the development of roads,” he said.
