BHUBANESWAR: Two days after the visit of a fact-finding team of the BJP to Kodala, members of the party’s women’s wing, led by its president Jayanti Padhiary, on Monday visited several villages of the block where group clashes and police firing claimed four lives. The team visited Chhachina, Digapada, Matha Berhampur, Marathi Sahi and Khajapalli villages and interacted with the womenfolk. The women of the villages narrated their harrowing experience at the hands of police. The women complained that the police brutally assaulted aged persons, ransacked houses and looted gold ornaments. The team visited the Kodala Hospital and met the injured persons undergoing treatment. They also met the next of kin of those killed and heard the plight of the other villagers.Padhiary in a statement said  Kabisuryanagar MLA V Sugnana Kumari Deo, being a woman, has no empathy for the affected people. The barbaric attack on the people reflects the poor law and order situation in the State. The police are behaving like goons of the ruling party, she charged. The team comprised women’s wing vice-president Sabita Praharaj and secretaries Pratima Mishra and Padmaja Debata. Padhiary will submit a report on the team’s findings to the BJP State president Jual Oram.
