Kitchens in all government primary schools: CM

HYDERABAD: Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Tuesday ordered construction of kitchen rooms in all 50,000 government primary schools in the state. At a review meeting, he directed the officials to convene a meeting with officials of the departments concerned and prepare an action plan for constructing kitchen rooms and providing funds.The officials informed Reddy that each kitchen would cost Rs 60,000 and they were taking up the project with Rs 300-crore aid from the central government. However, officials told the CM, due to the cost escalation each room would now cost Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 more. CM asked them to provide additional funds required for the project.
