Kerala Temple Fire: 'Dead' Man Found Alive, Family Cremates Wrong Body
"After the cremation, a boy came to me and showed me list of survivors in hospitals. I saw my son's photo," Pramod's mother Laila said.

Kollam: A man believed to have died in the Puttingal temple fire mishap was found alive hours after his family members cremated a wrong body.

The man has been identified as Pramod and he was found recuperating at a government hospital.

He suffered minor burn injuries but the trauma of witnessing the disaster has left him in a state of shock.

"It was a horrific incident. The scenes of the mishap are still fresh in my mind. It is difficult to forget that ill fated night," Pramod said.

But his family had already cremated another body thinking that it was Pramod. His mother Laila said, "After the cremation, a boy came to me and showed me list of survivors in hospitals. I saw my son's photo. I was very happy to get my son back yet sad that my brother is still missing."

However, there are many who are not as lucky as Laila.

Bhavani, the mother of a missing man, said, "My son Rajan is still missing after the fire incident. We'll be lucky if my son also comes back like Pramod."

The district administration is now trying to identify the body cremated by Pramod's family members.
