Bengaluru: In a bid to raise awareness about the loss of public property during agitations, the Karnataka Road Transport Corporation will be putting charred buses on display.
The passengers who were affected by the burning of buses during the agitations, will also take part in the campaign.
The recent turmoil of the garment workers resulted in the burning of several buses and incurred hefty loss for the government. Every year, the Karnataka Transport Corporation loses more than Rs 10 crore owing destruction of public buses.
"Not only in these days, since so many years and so many decades. People used to burn down buses in any fight. This is not good. Nine buses were completely burned down and 140 buses are damaged. It is our property and people act as if it is other's property," said state Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy.
