Kalabha Abhishekam Held

PATHAMTHITTA: Kalabha abhishekam was conducted at Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa temple on the second day of the Kumbham monthly pooja on Wednesday.The ritual was held during the uchcha pooja under the leadership of thantri Kandararu Maheswararu in the presence of melsanthi G Balamurali.As part of the ritual, the thantri performed kalabhakalasa pooja at 11.30 a.m. Before the kalabhabhishekam on the idol, the procession carrying the kalabhakalasam led by the thantri and the melsanthi was taken out by circumambulating the sreekovil.  Sahasrakalasam, udaysthamana pooja, pushpabhishekam and padi pooja were the other rituals held at the temple.Laksharchana on Feb18Sabarimala Devaswom executive officer M Sathishkumar said that laksharchana would be held on February 18. As part of the ritual, brahmakalasa pooja would be conducted by the thantri at8 a.m. The temple would be closed on February 18 evening after athazha pooja and Harivarasanam.
