J&K: One terrorist killed as Army foils infiltration bid along LoC in Poonch

Jammu: Foiling an infiltration bid along the Line of Control, the Army on Monday killed one terrorist in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

A group of terrorists tried to infiltrate into Indian territory along the LoC in Balnoie area of Poonch district

early on Monday morning, a Defence Spokesman said.

Troops guarding the LoC challenged them resulting in an encounter in which one terrorist was killed, he said.

This is the second day when a Pakistan infiltration attempt has been foiled. On Sunday, the Army had killed three infiltrators in Keran sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

The infiltration comes just days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif met in Russia and decided to revive the dialogue process.
