Irving (USA): Jeev Milkha Singh fired an improved three-under 67 to rise to tied 44th but Arjun Atwal slipped to tied 59th after returning a one-over 71 in the second round of the Byron Nelson Golf Championship.
Jeev's two-day total stands at one-under 139 with Atwal a stroke adrift at a total of 140.
Jeev struck a couple of birdies against a lone bogey in the front nine to make the turn one-under.
His backward journey turned out be better as he picked up birdies on the 13th, 15th and 16th holes before dropping a shot on the 17th hole.
Atwal, on the other hand, was left to rue a late slump.
The Orlando-based golfer found a lone birdie in the front nine to be one-under at the turn.
On his way back, Atwal picked up back-to-back strokes in the 10th and 11th holes before stumbling to a double bogey on the 14th.
Successive bogeys on the 17th and 18th only compounded his woes as he just about managed to remain inside the cut-line, which was set at at even-par.
At the top of the leader-board, American Cameron Backman (61) and Blake Adams (64) shared the lead at 10-under 130.
Australian Jason day (65) followed them a stroke behind at the third spot.
